Although I've now finished all of the bits of my Perl on a Stick grant, I've yet to submit a final grant report.
But there's a very very good reason why.
You see, I have a Sekrit. A huge, wonderful Sekrit that will provide an extra bonus result for my grant. A Sekrit bigger and more awesome than the Perl on a Stick work itself.
In fact, it's probably going to be as important or more important as Strawberry Perl was for improving the lives of Windows Perl programmers, and it could never have happened if not for the funding of my trip in a way that allowed me sufficient freedom to change plans easily and go chasing new ideas.
I've mentioned The Sekrit to a few people in IRC, but I've not dared risking mentioning it anywhere permanent, just in case I ruined it.
The Sekrit is due to be announced at the Open Source Developers Conference in Sydney next week.
Stay tuned!
