What's up with use.perl,org posting?

Is it just me, or it is impossible to post any journal entries over a particular size...

It seems to stop displaying the page part way through the preview page after what LOOKS like a relatively fixed number of characters.

I wonder if I should blame my proxy (it happens in both Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer)...

Aha!

Via the Firefox error log...

Security Error: Content at http://ad.doubleclick.net/adj/ostg.useperl/mainpage_p1_leader;pg=index;logged_in =0;tile=1;ord=3583722544862636.5? may not load data from http://use.perl.org/user/ChrisDolan/journal/.

Internet explorer also reports error, but far less usefully...

It would appear that the double click ads are breaking the site somehow.

I guess I should try to find a better adblocker.

What if I (or we) subsidise use Perl?

How much do the ads return to use Perl?
If it's only a few hundred dollars a year, I'll donate that myself and get rid of the ads (which BTW are so fucking slow to load)

Limits

There is a limit imposed by the database type we chose. I forget what it is, but it's pretty big. It shouldn't break anything on display though, if you get it truncated.
