David Golden's Perl::Dist::Builder module is what has been used to produce the current Vanilla/Strawberry Perl builds, but it is a little prone to bit-rotting, because it is essentially just a quick module'ification of his original script version.
It has long been my intent that we release a "production" Strawberry 5.10.0 on the same day that the official 5.10.0 release comes out, with the announcement of Strawberry 5.10.0 included in the main 5.10.0 press release.
So with that in mind I've started a heavy repair and refactoring job on Perl::Dist::Builder, with the goal of being able to reliably have a release of Strawberry Perl available for download within half an hour of the Perl 5.10.0 tarball hitting the PAUSE upload directory.
...and with a little luck, before 5.10.0 will be downloadable from most CPAN mirrors :)
