Former Apple Computer chief evangelist Guy Kawasaki and Sun Microsystems co-founder Bill Joy will give the keynote addresses at the O'Reilly Open Source Conference August 21-24 in Monterey, CA.

Kawasaki, CEO and chairman of Garage.com, will give a talk called "Rules for Revolutionaries -- Some Practical Advice for the Open Source Movement," borrowing from his book of similar name. Joy, chief scientist at Sun and principal designer of BSD, will present "From BSD to Jini: Adventures in Technology, Openness, and Community."

The Perl Conference this year will be joined by Linux, Apache, Python, sendmail, Tcl/Tk, and Open Source conferences. The Open Source keynote addresses will start all conference sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Larry Wall's Third State of the Onion speech will follow Kawasaki's address on Monday.
