Reminiscence Wanted

As you may know, Perl is now 20 years old. In lieu of buying her a beer and waiting around for a year, I'm looking for interesting stories and memories to collect and post on a Perl-related website with a very nice and short domain name in the next couple of days.

Please send them to chromatic@oreilly.com, along with a one sentence biography.

How do you send chromatic@oreilly.com something?

I tried to send something to chromatic@oreilly.com and got a bounce: "reason: 550-Host 69.94.29.143 is blocked: 550 Mail refused from spam source" ??? My domain has never been a spam source. Why is it blocked?

I have a paragraph to contribute, if it is possible. does chromatic@oreilly.com read this board?

I also wonder how I can get a copy of Perl 1.0 from 1987. I like collecting historical software. The oldest Perl I've found is a 3.something port to MS-DOS.

You can send mail to my cpan.org mailing address; I'm sure you can guess what the username is there.

A compilable version of Perl 1 is available too.
