These awards recognize Perl hackers who have made an outstanding technical contribution in the past year. Nominations are now open, and will be tallied at OSCON, where information about how to cast your vote will be announced. The awards will be presented at YAPC::EU."
The NJAPH for practicality is awarded to a Perl hacker who has made amazing technical contributions in the past year. The exact form of those contributions doesn't matter so much. It could be a port of Perl to a new architecture, a new testing system, amazingly useful CPAN modules or just about anything else. It just has to be a technical contribution that somehow improves the state of Perl for those who use it.
The NJAPH for pathology is awarded to the Perl hacker who has made the most mind-bendingly terrifying technical contribution in the past year. This doesn't mean the worst technical contribution, but something that makes your mind flip inside out when you start to think about it.
To nominate someone in either NJAPH category, send email containing the nominee's name and reason for nomination to njaph@bestpractical.com. Be sure to tell us which category you're nominating for.
