Please report any problems you encounter, especially bugs introduced since 5.8.4. Whenever possible, please report bugs using the perlbug utility. If the build or regression tests fail, make nok. If the build fails to early to run this, please mail perlbug at perl.org directly.
And what happened to release candidate 1? It was checked, it passed everything it was tested against, it was uploaded to PAUSE, and during the delay while waiting for it to propagate round CPAN, Rafael discovered that it caused Gtk2 to fail its regression tests. Which rendered it obsolete before it even got announced.
All being well this will be the last release candidate, and the release will be in about 7 days.
