Damian Conway Gives Free Talks in Toronto

Toronto Perl Mongers writes "Damian Conway will be coming to Toronto next month (July 2004) to give two free public talks in July." Update: 07/07 19:29 GMT by P : The location of the July 17 talk has been updated.

"His first topic will be Perl 6 Language Update: The State of The Language, and Object-Oriented Programming in Perl 6, on 17 July 2004, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in room #SF1105, Sanford Fleming Building, 10 King's College Road, University of Toronto (downtown St. George campus).

The other will be Small Miracles (a characteristic Damian "crazy talk"), on 19 July 2004, 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., in room S1208, Seneca @ York, 70 The Pond Road, York University."

The first talk (The State of the Language and Object-Oriented Programming in Perl 6) on July 17 has been moved to a different location. It is no longer at the Bahen Centr for IT.

I saw his "Sufficiently Advanced Technology" talk last month in Buffalo; I laughed so hard I was in tears, and at times I had to pick my jaw off the floor because I could not believe what I was seeing. I highly recommend it if he does it near you.

I spent 4 hours on CPAN and googling for some of the modules he demonstrated. :-)
