More details inside. The new committee will be part of YAPC, which is part of YAS, also known as TPF. Does anyone else remember when YAPCs were run by one or two individuals with lots of energy?
Founded in the Netherlands, the current board also has members from
England, Germany and France. Adhoc committee members will be co-opted from
relevant countries based on experience, usefulness, (and a certain willingness
to do all the work
The current committee consists of the following worthies;

The aim is to provide a focal point, organise on-line registration, mailing
lists, technical and conference advice and to generally support activities
encouraging Perl Conferences and Workshops in Europe.

They still are! YAPC::Europe is being organised and run by a very small group. Richard made it very clear in his announcement that the new committee is not responsible for running the conferences, just for encouragement. The organisers need all the encouragement they can get.
