ajtaylor writes "The YAPC::NA 2004 schedules are now available! Looks like some great talks and speakers are lined up this year. The conference is being held June 16-18 at University at Buffalo, Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. Register today!
I know you all want to hear Damian talk about Perl 6, but go see Andy Lester's talk, "The Open Source programmer's guide to getting a great job." From the descriptions:
You don't have to live on the west coast to get a great job and still give back to the Open Source community. Unlearn the conventional wisdom that cripples most job hunters. Forget what you think you know about getting a great job. This interactive session is in three sections, with plenty of time for Q&A.
I can promise you this will be well worth your time. You can learn about Perl 6 later. Andy really knows what he's talking about here.

That's one of the reasons I'm going to YAPC this year even if I have to pay for it 100% myself.:-) His other talks on testing and Perrin's talk on scability are also high on my list. I want to hear Damian since he's a fabulous speaker, but the time conflicts w/ some other talks that would be useful NOW, rather than some undetermined point in the future. (I'm NOT knocking on Perl 6 BTW.) Re:Go see Andy's talk

Wow, thanks for saying. I'm honored to know that you think so.
