Mr. Muskrat writes "The next meeting of the D/FW Perl Mongers will not be held on the normal night due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, it will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 6:30pm. This month's speaker is Tommy Butler. He will be discussing the steps you need to take in order to submit a module to CPAN. If you have never attended a D/FW Perl Mongers' meeting, then be sure to check the news page for maps."
That should be interesting. Tommy Butler has learned these steps the hard way, and probably knows them very well know. This month's speaker is Tommy Butler. He will be discussing the steps you need to take in order to submit a module to CPAN.
The two most important steps are documenting your code and making it work.
I think that the talk went really well. Tommy looked (and sounded) a little nervous but I expect that from any first time speaker. He was very thorough in explaining all of the details from the module's preconception up to and beyond placing it on CPAN. We had many questions but he had answers. I look forward to seeing more from him in the future.
If you are interested in learning more, an electronic version of tonight's presentation should be available soon from the D/FW Perl Mongers.
