TPF Grant Report

Simon on 2003-08-04T10:43:00

davorg writes "Autrijus Tang was the recipient of one of the recent Perl Foundation Grants. His project was to add support for pubkeys to CPAN.pm, Module::Build and PAR. He recently announced that he had met all of his targets. His report is now available on the Perl Foundation web site." Nice work, Autrijus.

Correction...

autrijus on 2003-08-04T13:18:56

My report stated incorrectly that Perl 5.8.1 is expected to ship a version of CPAN.pm with my Module::Signature patches. This is no longer the case -- it is agreed that more testing is required for it to be merged into the stable CPAN.pm releases.

However, I will work with Andreas Koenig during the 1.76_xx series to furthur stabilize the pubkey support, and eventually release a version that does contains the patch.

Finally, I'd like to say that I am really grateful for this opportunity to work for TPF, and it has been a wonderful job to work on.

Credit to where credit's due...

I have just been whacked with a cluestick and discovered that, for Module::Build's pubkey implementation, it's Dave Rolsky who've sent most of the patches to Ken Williams.

It was my fault for not acknowledging Dave in addition to Ken in the report. A patch will be forthcoming. :-)

two of my modules 'ls jettero' already have signatures using his ultra cool modules. Just wanted to give a shout out that Tang rules, par rules, etc...
