jdavidb writes "Mark-Jason Dominus now has a Perl quiz of the week mailing list you can subscribe to at perl-qotw-subscribe@plover.com. I presume you'll receive a delightful puzzle or quiz to try to solve with Perl every week. I can't figure out where the original announcement came from, but I received it forwarded to the DFW.pm list. The suggestion came from someone in one of MJD's training sessions, apparently."

Actually the
original announcement was in comp.lang.perl.misc. But then I thought I should distribute it more widely.
Rather surprisingly, the student who originally requested this last week hasn't subscribed.

Speaking of distributing things more widely, there's also a discussion mailing list, perl-qotw-discuss@plover.com, where the questions will be discussed.
To subscribe to the discussion list, click here and send email.
You don't find out about the discussion list until you subscribe to the qotw list, well, unless you read this...
Sounds like fun, although I hope people will be good enough to use some spoiler-avoidance protocol in the discussion list for the first few days the new quizzes are out. I may get lazy otherwise!

There is an archive of perl-qotw messages at

I anticipate that the perl-qotw-discuss list will probably have fairly high traffic. You may prefer to subscribe to the digest version of the list, which will bundle up a number of messages and send them at once, instead of one at a time. To subscribe, send a message to
