geoff writes "The mod_perl Developer's Cookbook has just been released by Sams Publishing and is shipping from various online retailers."

"The mod_perl Developer's Cookbook is a practical, hands-on guide that shows developers how to exploit the power of mod_perl. It teaches programming with the mod_perl API by example, taking programmers from the basics of mod_perl to the development of advanced Web applications. It is aimed primarily at Perl developers who want to use the power of Apache to create Web applications and deliver services. Beginners to will find solutions that help them get going quickly, while advanced users will find useful nuggets of overlooked mod_perl features.

Further information, including our entire code repository and some sample chapters, is available at http://www.modperlcookbook.org/

We hope that everyone finds the book useful, informative, and fun. The mod_perl Developer's Cookbook is our attempt to give something meaningful back to the mod_perl community - thanks to everyone out there that made our endeavor possible."

Congrats on getting this book out! I look forward to picking up a copy. Any distributors in Australia?

PS: Thanks for sharing your code and ideas with the mod_perl list and CPAN too. :-)

I've found Everything Linux to be a pretty good Australian source of technical books in the past - I gave them a call today to see what the expected delay in availability for this title would be. They estimate to be roughly a month to two months, but assured me that they already had orders placed for the book with their supplier. There was no indication of pricing at this stage.
