Module Listings off Home Page

OK, the daily Module Listings ("New CPAN Distributions") postings are taking up a bit too much room on the home page. So I am moving them off the home page.

You can still see them in two ways, though: first, by going to the Module Listings section page directly. Second, by going to your user preferences and selecting "Collapse Sections", which folds all section-only stories onto the home page.

Of course, if you are an anonymous user, you just get the default. I haven't decided yet whether or not to have Collapse Sections by the default if you aren't logged in. Let me know your thoughts on that, if you have any.

Only keep one on the home page?

Is there some way to keep only the latest on the home page?

Nope.

There's a slashbox available for it which might be more what you're looking for. I quit looking at it a long while back; my afternoon post-lunch ritual is to check www.perl.com, use.perl.org, and then search.cpan.org/recent/

Will the listings still be included in the RDF?

TOCie on 2001-12-18T18:48:48

As seeing the listings elsewhere (i.e. /.) is very, very useful... :)

But not as usefull as having a seperate RDF feed for Module releases.

(some of us are only interested in the news ... we get the Module Lists via email)

Yeah, I see no reason to have them in the RDF, when there is another RDF which is better.

BTW: I posted that mailto:majordomo link because I couldn't find the WWW page iwth the list info on it ... that's 'cause I was looking for "cpan-daily" which is just variation on "cpan-update"
