hfb writes "Over the weekend the CPAN master mirror at FUNET in Finland started to experience technical difficulties with the RAID housing the filesystem where the CPAN and other mirrors reside. The system admins have managed to keep the box running, however the filesystem is read-only at this time. What this means to you and your CPAN surfing pleasure;

  • The CPAN master cannot write updates from PAUSE hourly as usual which means new uploads to PAUSE will not propagate out to other mirrors
  • The mirrors around the world will still be able to mirror funet.fi without error, however there will be nothing new to mirror.
  • The search engines mirror PAUSE directly but shunt downloads to other mirrors which may be changed temporarily if this situation continues

We have no ETA on when this problem will be resolved but we will try to keep you informed here on use.perl. Please try to be patient and hug your local sysadmin in a show of support for the, at times, thankless but essential job they do to keep things running."
