Second Public Parrot Demo

Dan writes "The world's second[1] public parrot demo will be at this month's Boston.PM tech meeting. That's at 7 PM (give or take) September 11 at the Boston.com building. Directions at the Boston.PM direction page. If you're coming, please RSVP to Ronald Kimball, rjk at linguist.thayer.dartmouth.edu, so we have an appropriate head-count for stuff.

This is just a demo of the basic functionality of the interpreter. Lots of stuff isn't done yet. (We don't, for example, parse perl code--this is all assembly to bytecode here)

[1] (The first was at the London.PM meeting by Simon Cozens on the 6th.)"

Fact or fiction?

Is Parrot real or not? Didn't this start out as an April Fool's joke?

Parrot's real. The whole April first thing was just a really subtle joke... :)

The best ideas start out as jokes :)
