Brian Ingerson and Neil Watkiss were honored with Best New Module for Inline, which allows one to embed other languages into Perl programs. Dan Brian won the Damian Conway Award for Technical Excellence for his papers on linguistics ("Statistical Disambiguation of Word Senses with Lingua::EN::Ambiguity" and "Linguiana: Perl as a Language for Conceptual Represenation"), and Mark-Jason Dominus won the Larry Wall Award for Practical Utility for his paper "Rx, a Regex Debugger for Perl."
