MacPerl 5.6.1a4 (the "a" stands for "alpha"!) has been released. Read the announcement. Some of the big changes since the last version are the inclusion of more new modules from the 5.7.2 release (Filter::Call::Util, Switch, NEXT, Text::Balanced, Class::ISA, Time::HiRes, List::Util, Scalar::Util, Memoize), plus some bug fixes for ENV tainting, -d: command-line switches, and (partially) DB_File.
