Pumpking Jarkko Hietaniemi has released the last snapshot before 5.7.2, and notes that each following snapshot will be a 5.8.0 release candidate. Check out his post to perl5-porters and if you have any code or bugfixes to get in, "please inform your

There's a lot. A few things are significant changes to Unicode, PerlIO, and a lot more modules added to the core. I forget the other bullet points off the top of my head though. I know I am missing one or two big ones, at least.
