jand writes "ActiveState just launched a new awards campaign for those who have contributed to the Perl and Python community. There are two sets of awards: Programmers' Choice and Activators' Choice.

The Programmers' Choice is a two stage process where we accept nominations from the community until Feb. 20, then post the top nominees, and then the community votes from amongst these top nominees.

The Activators' Choice is chosen by our dev team on the basis of who they think has accomplished the most with Perl and with Python.

The winners will be announced on March 6.
