Nathan Torkington writes "I recently spoke to Larry about his progress categorising the perl6
RFCs, and posted a progress report to perl6-language. Summary: he's
been ill, but is better now. He's going to focus on one topic at
a time (e.g., regexps) so hopefully we should see decisions from him
soon."

For Perl 6 to be Ruby, Perl 5.x would have to be
the last Perl. Is this what Larry is now planning?
(it does explain months of delays and confusion)
To its credit, Ruby proves programmers can have
it all: power, flexibility, *and* ease-of-learning,
in a clean, portable, syntax-friendly language.
Now that I code in Ruby for some real-world jobs,
I can completely understand Larry's admiration.
By the way - merry Xmas, everybody!
