I'm taking you off my christmas card list...
I think I voted for the wrong option...
I meant to click the "Who will be the next US President?" option, but I think I chose the "Other" option. Can we do a recount? How about if we just redo the voting?

That one I like. Throw out a bunch of suggestions, I'll post it next week or something.

Common Lisp. Of course, I may be somewhat of a heretic in that it's also my favorite language including Perl. :-)

What OS you program perl on?
Linux
*BSD
Solaris
Win 9* or ME
Win NT
BeOS
MacOS <= 9
MacOS X
other (please comment)
Yes big list I know but It would be interesting to see. The Macs are seprated because MacOS X is a unix kernal and <9 are not.

What OS you program perl on?
You forgot about DOS. The Unix(y) choices are somewhat limited. And you didn't even metion VMS.

I clicked on the "other" option. I don't have a clue on how many lines of Perl code I've ever written. My preference for "other language" is rather limited by practicality, not by what I think is a good language.
So what do I think is a good Perl related question? Well:
Are most of your Perl programs:
- One shot programs (throw away)
- Generic programs for everyday use
- Anything in between...
I think most of
my programs are of the one-shot kind. Sometimes I run them a few times, sometimes even with months between them, but I consider them one-shot programs anyway. The second time I run them, I usually have to tweak 'em, heavily, anyway.
I think that is typical for Perl. (duck...)

Maybe we should add
"Watch penguins at window" and
"build m@[Ss]t(range ; ;|upid)@gemox regex" to this pool...
