Michael Wexler writes "From the ActiveState site:

Komodo, ActiveState's cross-platform, cross-language Integrated Development Environment based on the Mozilla application development framework, is available in pre-beta for download. The Technology Preview Release has support for Windows NT/2000. Support for other platforms will be available very soon.

Features: early warning systems editor; remote debugger; online help; project manager; and more.

Looks pretty cool, but requires both Perl and Python runtimes for the tool to work, and its somewhat large currently. It shows some great promise for the future..."

Komodo doesn't yet support my set-up, so I can't comment on that part of Activestate's work, but I had thought that one aspect of the ActiveState effort was to make it possible to write XPcom components for Mozilla in languages like Perl and Python. A quick hunt around deja suggests that the ActiveState people are *this close* to releasing that part of the project, which I think would be an incredibly important thing for both Mozilla and Perl.

Does anybody out there no any better or differently?
