Captain Perl to the Rescue!

I just logged on to post this link, but colink beat me to it. He writes "Head on over to Geek Action Figures to get a copy of the Captain Perl action figure, courtesy of Nitrozac at After-Y2K. Looks like Larry's been working out!

The real question, of course, is what happened to his trusty Camel sidekick and what would he be named?"

Larry's camel sidekick

I think "Hubris" would be a good name.

Larry (leaping aboard Hubris to chase down a villainous bug bent on destroying humanity): "Hi ho Hubris! Away!"

(Apologies to Isaac Hayes)

Who's the mustached private dick
That's a code machine to all the scripts?
PERL!
Ya damn right!

Who's blurring the lines between compiled
and interpreted?
PERL!
Can you dig it?

Who's sending stuff to STDOUT
When there's danger all about?
PERL!
Right On!

They say this cat PERL a bad mother
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
I'm talkin' 'bout PERL.
THEN WE CAN DIG IT!

He's an obfuscated man
But no one understands him but his woman
CAPTAIN PERL!

Oh yeah :-)

Make your own paper doll!

I printed out the full Capt. Perl picture, then cut it to form. I taped a 1/4" strip of
cardboard "spine" to "Larry's" back. I then
curled the base into a circle and taped the ends.

The result:

My own Capt. Perl Paper Doll.
