Larry Wall posted an URL to a paper comparing C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Rexx, and Tcl, and notes that Perl does quite well in the comparison.

This is a good article, though not written by Larry. It looks like it's a college paper.
The best way to read this is to download the PDF version (look at the links at the bottom of the table of contents).

I don't agree. This isn't a realistic comparision.
I looked at the programmers they tested: the C, C++ and Java programmers were CS Master graduates (not much expierence...), and the scriptlanguage programmers were 'recruited' via usenet, so there's a good chance there were much more experienced programmers in this group!
Nevertheless it's always nice to see that Perl does good...
