SourceForge and Perl

So I have been using SourceForge quite a bit of late for Slashcode, and I pretty much like it. There is certainly room for improvement, but for projects that aren't huge (like perl) it makes bug reporting and patch submissions easy, and it provides mailing lists and, most importantly to me, CVS with public access.

I am thinking of moving my other Perl projects and modules over there (MP3::Info, Mac::Glue, etc.). Does anyone have any thoughts about SourceForge, or people using it for module development?

Good idea

I think it is a good idea. For one, when people see collaborative Perl projects it will help dispel the write only myth.

I like sourceforge. It does bother me a little that were I to use it I'd be dependant upon resources that I have no control over however. Luckily for us the clueful people at sourceforge release their code as open source so we can setup our own sourceforge-alike site.

Anyway, I'm all for sourceforge. I recommend it to all my friends.

Not quite; they have not released all their code because they are afraid of people setting up sourceforge-alikes. Lookee here.
