Perl pumpking Gurusamy Sarathy released perl 5.5.640 this week, with a lot of bug fixes and feature additions. He notes that the next release, 5.5.650, will come fairly soon, and will be the first beta of perl 5.6, "which means it will be feature-complete, but still full of bugs."
