Andover.Net, owners of Slashdot, will be offering a total of $100,000 in cash prizes to winners of the Slashdot Beanie Awards 2000. The 16 categories include Most Improved Open Source Project, Most Improved Kernel Module, Best Perl Module and Best Unix Desktop Eyecandy. Each Slashdot user is allowed to nominate one person in each category. In about two weeks voting will begin, with one vote per user in each category. Winners will be announced February 3 at Linux World Expo in New York.
